America’s Rising Stars is an innovative and unique inside-out self development process. This research based approach focuses on three critical elements that promote personal leadership, healthy behaviors, and the skills employers identify as essential. These elements are developed, applied and reinforced through a follow-up process to strengthen and perpetuate success behaviors.

How It Started
Beginning in the spring of 1996, this curriculum was field tested in an urban comprehensive high school, a middle school, a church youth club, and a community based program for adjudicated youth. Through research and field testing, invaluable information was gained how to structure a youth leadership performance model and what essential components are needed to provide measurable success.
Results To Date
America’s Rising Stars is now utilized in over 26 States. The program has reached out not only to young people ages 12 to 17, but to adults as well.
- Graduates within one pilot site had a 40% grade point increase
- Graduates within one pilot site had a 56% reduction in school disciplinary/truancy incidents.
- College attendance within one pilot site increased from 5% to 75%.
- Daily school attendance increased.
- Academic performance increased.
- Reduction in at risk behavior.
- Demonstration of leadership in various situations.
Western New York & Southern Ontario
Resource Development & Management is introducing America’s Rising Stars to Western New York and southern Ontario for the first time. Working together with its Business Partners, the goal is to have every school district in the binational area exposed to the benefits of implementing this youth self directed leadership program.
